Accused caught from Agra

On April 16, 2026, the Anti-Extortion Cell of Mumbai Crime Branch arrested the absconding accused Pradeep Kumar Ramsingh Jathav alias Gath (22) from Agra, Uttar Pradesh. Investigation has revealed that he was present at the spot at the time of the incident and was involved in helping as well as instigating the people who fired.

Firing took place on 1 February

It is noteworthy that on February 1, 2026, unknown assailants opened fire outside Rohit Shetty’s house in Juhu area of ​​Mumbai. After this incident, a case was registered at Juhu Police Station under several serious sections including Arms Act and Maharashtra Police Act. Later the case was handed over to the Crime Branch and MCOCA was also added to it.

Already 14 accused arrested

A total of 14 accused have been arrested in this case so far, who are currently in judicial custody. The police had found indications in the initial investigation that this attack could be part of an organized criminal conspiracy, due to which the investigation was intensified.

The arrested accused will be produced before the special MCOCA court in Mumbai on April 17. The police will seek his remand for questioning, so that other aspects related to this conspiracy can be revealed.

The search for the mastermind continues

The entire operation was carried out under the supervision of senior Mumbai Police officials. Now the focus of the investigating agencies is on reaching the mastermind of this attack.
