Big update on Rohit Sharma’s injury, MI coach said – will not rush

Tezzbuzz Desk- Things are becoming increasingly difficult for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2026. After starting the season with a win, the team has now lost four consecutive matches and has reached the bottom position in the points table. Meanwhile, the team suffered another setback when its star batsman Rohit Sharma got injured.

Actually, in the match against Royal Challengers Bangalore, Rohit Sharma was seen struggling with hamstring problem during the second innings. He had to leave the field midway during the run chase, after which he was rested in the next match. He was not a part of the team in the match against Punjab Kings.

Team captain Hardik Pandya had already indicated that Rohit’s return may take some time and his fitness is being constantly monitored. Now the team’s head coach Mahela Jayawardene has also given an update regarding his condition.

According to Jayawardene, Rohit Sharma’s injury is not serious and he is recovering fast. He told that Rohit has started running and batting lightly, but the team management does not want to do anything hasty. He believes that the tournament is still in its initial stage, hence it is important to be cautious about the fitness of the players.

At the same time, Jayawardene also gave a big statement regarding the poor performance of the team. He made it clear that it is not right to blame only captain Hardik Pandya for continuous defeats. According to him, it is the collective responsibility of the entire team and support staff to improve the performance.

The biggest challenge for Mumbai Indians now is to bring the team balance and the form of the players back on track. Fans will hope that Rohit Sharma returns soon and the team can once again find its way to victory.
