The struggle of Roshni Sonkar and Purnima Sonkar has achieved significant success in the case of alleged assault, caste-related abuses and threat of eviction from the house in Para area of the capital Lucknow. According to the victim's side, the police have now registered FIR number 0688/2026 in connection with the incident that took place on the night of September 2, 2026. Sections 333, 351(3), 352 of the Indian Justice Code (BNS) and sections of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act have been included in the FIR.
The victim alleges that on the night of September 2, he was beaten up by the bullies and he was allegedly threatened using caste based words. There has also been an allegation of being threatened with being thrown out of the house. After the incident, the victims complained about the matter to the police and demanded action.
According to Roshni Sonkar and Purnima Sonkar, they had to make continuous efforts for justice. He says that he had video evidence related to the incident and on the basis of this evidence he demanded fair action from the police. After the FIR was registered, the victim party described it as an important achievement of their long struggle.
Voice conveyed to police officers
The aggrieved party said that they tried to express their views regarding the matter at various levels. During this time, National President of Bharatiya Jan Samaj Party Brijmohan Singh also helped in raising his case and conveying his views to the concerned police officials.
Roshni Sonkar and Purnima Sonkar expressed their gratitude towards Brijmohan Singh, saying that he supported them when they needed help and made continuous efforts to take action in the case.
The aggrieved party also thanked senior party leaders Santosh Pandey, Govind Yadav and Santosh Gupta for their cooperation.
Expressed gratitude to journalists also
The victim's family also expressed gratitude to the journalists who published the case prominently in newspapers. He says that due to the media highlighting his problem, his voice reached more people and the demand for action in the matter was strengthened.
The aggrieved party said that in a democracy, journalism is an important medium to bring forth the problems of the common people and in this case the journalists raised their views prominently.
Hope for justice increased after police action
After the FIR was registered, Roshni Sonkar said that this action has further strengthened her faith in the justice system. He expressed hope that further investigation of the case will be done in a fair manner and after investigation of the allegations, action will be taken as per law.
He said that there is a need for security to ensure that the family does not face any kind of trouble or danger in the future. The aggrieved party has demanded action against the accused as per rules and ensuring the safety of the family.
Struggle is said to be the victory of courage
The victim party described the registration of FIR as not just a legal action but an important milestone in their struggle. He says that despite limited resources, he continued his efforts to express his views and raise his voice for justice.
Roshni Sonkar and Purnima Sonkar expressed gratitude to all the people who cooperated in the case and said that their struggle will continue till they get justice.
However, registration of FIR is not confirmation of the allegations in the case. Now further legal action will be decided on the basis of evidence and facts revealed in the police investigation.
