Rovman Powell produced a match-winning knock, helping Jamaica Kingsmen secure a 5-wicket win over Warriors in Barbados.
His 17-ball 40 has overshadowed Hetmyer’s century as Kingsmen advance to the CPL 2026 finals. Invited to bat first, Guyana Amazon Warriors lost the wickets of openers Mohammad Haris and Mavendra Dindyal for 9 runs each.
With Haris dismissed by run-out, Hassan Khan bagged the wicket of Dindyal. However, a partnership between Shai Hope and Shimron Hetmyer has set the Warriors to score 37 runs in the powerplay.
The duo forged a 96-run partnership where Hetmyer smashed a 20-ball fifty while Shai Hope added a 33-ball 40. He got dismissed by Hunain Shah in the 13th over.
Meanwhile, Sampson added 29 runs off 17 deliveries before being dismissed by Andre Russell. By the end of 20 overs, Jamaica Kingsmen went on to score 206 runs.
Shimron Hetmyer smashed a 45-ball century and remained unbeaten with 102* runs.
Chasing a massive target, Maaz Sadaqat and Kirk McKenzie opened the innings, putting up a decent partnership for the 1st wicket.
Dwaine Pretorius broke the partnership, dismissing Sadaqat for 41 runs. With Kirk McKenzie and Keacy Carty at the crease, Kingsmen scored 75 runs in the powerplay.

McKenzie added a 20-ball 34 before Imran Tahir bagged his wicket in the 9th over. While Keacy Carty was building the innings, Saim Ayub scored 23 runs before his dismissal.
Rovman Powell, who came to bat at No. 5, fired a quick 17-ball 40, which included 2 fours and four sixes. He remained unbeaten, along with Hassan Khan, as the side completed the chase in the last over with two balls to spare.
Rovman Powell was named player of the match. Speaking at the presentation, Powell said, ” It’s a proud journey, to be honest. It started with us losing three games early in the competition, and in the middle, we found some form, some confidence, and realised that we can play cricket as a bunch.”
“Coming in, we just wanted to squeeze into the playoffs because we know once you get a Jamaican team into the playoffs, they’re dangerous. I know it’s showtime.”
