Lucknow. The anger of the villagers regarding the country liquor shop operating near the school and sports ground in Kudha village of Mohanlalganj police station area erupted on the Sampoorna Samadhan Diwas on Saturday. Shivsagar Tiwari, Surendra Kumar Singh and other villagers gave a complaint letter to the SDM demanding immediate transfer of the shop to another place. Villagers say that just 100 meters away from the liquor shop that has been operating for many years in front of the market, there is a pre-secondary school up to class eight and a children's playground.
The villagers demanded an investigation into the location of the shop, citing excise rules and arrangements governing liquor sale around public places. It is alleged that during the afternoon break, when children play in the ground, a gathering of intoxicated people forms around the liquor shop and there is abusing and ruckus. Due to this, not only the safety of the children but also the environment of the school is being affected.
Villagers allege that due to the gathering of drunkards, women and girl students passing through the road also have to face abuses and abuses. According to the villagers, the matter has already been complained to the Excise Department, but no effective action was taken.
He demanded that the Excise Department should inspect the spot and check the license of the shop, the designated place and the applicable rules. Taking the complaint seriously, the SDM has instructed the Excise Department to investigate as per rules and take necessary action. The villagers warned that if the shop was not removed even after investigation, they would be forced to agitate.
