Nagpur, 18 August 2026: Today, the enthusiasm and patriotic atmosphere of Independence Day is visible across the country. On this special occasion, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Sanghchalak Mohan Bhagwate hoisted the tricolor national flag at the RSS headquarters in Nagpur. On this occasion, he remembered the unwavering martyrdom, sacrifice and sacrifice of the freedom fighters of the country and stressed on the responsibility of every citizen to keep the freedom intact.
In his address, Mohan Bhagwat had said that, I.S. India has now become independent and its freedom will always remain intact. However, our goal of making the country stronger, safer and happier has not yet been achieved. There are many internal and external challenges before the country, facing which we will have to remain firmly connected to our core ideas and eternal principles.

Explaining the importance of the tricolor flag, Mohan Bhagwat had said that the saffron color of the national flag is a symbol of hard work, knowledge, renunciation and sacrifice. White color represents peace and coolness, while green color represents prosperity. At the individual level, our thoughts may differ, but this diversity is an expression of our unbroken unity. He added that the spokes of the Ashoka Chakra in the center of the national flag may go in different directions, but they all emerge from the same center and remain within a controlled limit and are tied to the 'Dharmachakra'. This is the reason why we have placed the Dharmachakra at the center of our national flag.
Talking about the bright future of the country, he said that our country is free and will always be free, but the elements that create obstacles in the way of making the nation happy, prosperous and secure are always active. India's role should not be limited only to its economic and material progress, but the country should move forward in making useful and constructive contributions to humanity throughout the world. On this festival, he had called upon the countrymen to contribute with full responsibility for the security and prosperity of the nation.
