Lucknow. Satyagraha was held in the capital Lucknow on Thursday regarding various problems and pending demands of electricity contract employees. In the Satyagraha organized on the call of Vidyut Samvida Mazdoor Sangathan, Uttar Pradesh, the employees raised their voice in support of their demands. After this, the memorandum was submitted to Engineer Jaiprakash, 33 KV Central Zone Lesa as the representative of the Superintending Engineer.
In the memorandum, there was a demand to include all the outsourced employees working in the Electricity Department in the Outsourced Services Corporation formed by the government, to stop the retrenchment of contractual employees and to take back the previously removed employees. Apart from this, demands for increase in fixed honorarium, additional payment for extra work as per rules and providing adequate safety equipment to the employees were also prominently placed.
The organization also raised the demand to make the facial attendance system practical and increase the retirement age of contractual employees from 55 years to 60 years. A total of 14 major demands were mentioned in the memorandum.
The leaders of the organization said that the electricity contract employees are playing an important role in providing uninterrupted electricity system to the department and consumers by working continuously in adverse conditions. Despite this, their problems have not been solved for a long time. The organization appealed to the government and departmental management to take positive decisions on the demands soon.
In the Satyagraha and memorandum program, Vimal Chandra Pandey, president of the Electrical Labor Organization and media in-charge of the Electrical Contract Labor Organization, organization in-charge Punit Rai, Govind Mishra, Mata Prasad Pandey, Naresh Srivastava, Pawan Srivastava, Imran, Bablu, Rakesh Shukla, Ankit Verma, Neeraj Kumar Pandey, Riyaz Ali, Shubham Yadav, Mohammad Azim, Ashok Gupta, Abhishek, Sandeep, Manoj, Neeraj and Ankit. A large number of contractual employees and officials of the organization were present.
