SBI Strike 2026: There is big news for the customers of State Bank of India. SBI employees will be on strike on 25th and 26th May regarding their pending demands. The employees have announced a two-day strike. Due to this, banking work will be affected for two days. Customers may have to face problems. All India State Bank of India had made its official announcement by issuing a circular on May 2.

Why are SBI employees on strike?

  • The strike will be organized under the banner of State Bank of India Staff Employees Union.
  • The union says that a report is being given regarding long pending demands but no positive initiative has been taken.
  • It has been decided to go on a two-day strike regarding several demands. According to the report of Dainik Bhaskar, the union has 16 major demands.
  • Some of the major demands are – recruitment of armed guards, providing inter circle transfer facility to the personnel recruited in the year 2019, the system of outsourcing in permanent jobs should be abolished.
  • Recruitment for entry level posts is closed, due to which the workload on existing employees is increasing.

Which works will be affected?

  • Customers may have to face many problems due to bank employees going on strike.
  • Cash transactions, check clearance and banking services will be affected.
  • There may be problems in withdrawing and depositing money from the bank counter.
  • Work like updating KYC and passbook may also be affected.

Bank may remain closed for 5 days

  • SBI employees have announced a two-day strike.
  • 23rd May is the fourth Saturday of the month and 24th May is Sunday. Banks remain closed on both days.
  • Bank employees will be on strike on 25th and 26th May.
  • The bank will remain closed on 27th May due to Eid. In this way, banks will remain open for five days.
