New Delhi: A shocking case of cyber fraud has come to light in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. A 26-year-old youth working in a private company was trapped in the net of Rs 50 lakh by a nude video call from an unknown number. The thugs first threatened to make the obscene video viral and then pretended to be Delhi cyber crime officers and threatened to be arrested. Due to this fear, the young man transferred Rs 49.78 lakh.

Nude video call came on WhatsApp

According to the victim, the incident took place on the night of 3 September 2026. He was using his mobile at home when a video call came on his WhatsApp from an unknown number. As soon as the call was picked up, a girl was seen on the screen in an objectionable condition. The young man immediately disconnected the call and blocked the number. But the story did not end here. After some time a call came from another number. The caller said that his video had been recorded and if the money was not paid, it would be made viral on social media. To scare him, a video was also sent, which the young man deleted.

Called himself Delhi cyber crime officer

Let us tell you, after this incident everything remained quiet for three weeks, but on September 27, the thugs contacted again. This time a person introduced himself as Delhi Cyber Crime Branch officer Sanjay Arora. He said that a case of nude video has been registered against the youth and there can be a punishment of 7 years in it. The young man got scared as soon as he heard about the arrest.

During this time, he was made to talk to another person named Hemant Malhotra, who introduced himself as an official of YouTube. He claimed that two obscene videos have been uploaded on the platform in the name of the youth, for whose removal he will have to pay Rs 71,250.

Extorted lakhs of rupees by threatening

This game, which started with a small amount in the beginning, gradually grew bigger. Sometimes the thugs would threaten to ruin their career by making the video viral and sometimes they would threaten to register a case and send them to jail. Due to fear, the young man kept sending money to different bank accounts mentioned by him. In this way gradually a total of Rs 49.78 lakh was extorted from him. When the demands of the thugs did not stop even after taking the money, the young man realized that he had become a victim of a major cyber fraud. After this he lodged a complaint with the Ahmedabad Cyber Crime Branch.

After the incident, the police have registered the case and started investigation. The details of the bank accounts to which the money has been transferred are being ascertained. Police are also finding out how many more people are involved in this gang.
