Mumbai: As India marks its 80th Independence Day, Bollywood celebrities have taken to social media to share messages celebrating patriotism, peace and unity.
Shah Rukh Khan also marked the occasion by sharing a picture of himself with the national flag in the background, along with a heartfelt note on what it means to be Indian.
The superstar urged people to appreciate the country’s freedoms and values while encouraging everyone to cherish and protect what they have.
He wrote, “A very Happy Independence Day to all.. There’s something special about being Indian…the colours, the contrasts, the beautiful differences, the spirit and above all, the feeling of belonging to something much bigger than ourselves…our Country. May we always value what we have and do our little bit to make our country proud. Proud to be an Indian and love being one. Jai Hind!”
Alongside SRK, Amitabh Bachchan also extended his Independence Day wishes to his fans and followers on social media.
He shared a picture of himself holding the national flag and penned a message in Hindi in the caption.
“A day of independence; an auspicious day for greetings! Vande Mataram!!!” he wrote.
On the work front, Shah Rukh is currently busy with his highly anticipated action film King.
King is reportedly heavily inspired by the 1994 classic Léon: The Professional, with Shah Rukh playing a veteran hitman who takes on the responsibility of protecting a young girl.
The film also stars Suhana Khan, Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Arshad Warsi, Raghav Juyal and Jaideep Ahlawat in key roles.
Directed by Siddharth Anand, the film is slated for a Christmas 2026 release.
