Shahbaz Govt sentenced ‘Baloch Singhi’ Mahrang, who inspired Pakistan Army in freedom struggle, to life imprisonment
Balochistan is burning with insurgency. The people there have been agitating for a long time to separate from Pakistan. That’s what the Pak Army is proud of. Allegations of unspeakable torture have been made against them in suppressing the rebellion. Shahbaz Sharif’s government sentenced Mahrang Baloch, one of the faces of the Baloch movement, the ‘Baloch Lioness’ to life imprisonment.
Mahrang, the popular face of Balochistan, was a human rights activist and leader of the Baloch Yakzehti Committee (BYC). He was a doctor by profession. He has been vocal against the unspeakable torture of the Pakistan Army in Balochistan for the past decade. An anti-terrorism court in Quetta sentenced him to life imprisonment on Monday. Besides Mahrang, the court also sentenced his two accomplices to life imprisonment. But why were they sentenced? According to several Pakistani media reports, the Pakistani court sentenced them to life imprisonment for their involvement in terrorist activities. BYC strongly condemned the whole incident. According to a section of the informed circles, after this incident, Balochistan may burn again in the fire of Ashanti. It should be noted that Mahrang was arrested several times before. Not only that, he also went to jail for standing against the Pak Army.
Incidentally, the armed organization Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has been formed in Balochistan to protest against the unspeakable torture of Pakistan Army. To suppress these forces, the Pakistan Army has crossed the line of torture in the entire Balochistan. Backlash is coming. Currently, Pakistan is in conflict with Afghanistan. In this case, another rebel organization, Tehreek-e-Taliban, has disturbed the sleep of the Shahbaz government. Taking advantage of this dire situation, Baloch organizations have also stepped up attacks.
