‘Shahrukh’s ego became the reason…’ Abhijeet Bhattacharya accused ‘King Khan’, broke silence on years old controversy

Tezzbuzz Desk – Abhijeet Bhattacharya has once again spoken openly about his old dispute with Shah Rukh Khan. In the 90s and early 2000s, Abhijeet’s voice was considered an important part of Shahrukh Khan’s on-screen personality. His voice in many superhit songs further strengthened SRK’s romantic image. But with time there was a rift in their relationship.

Recently, in a podcast interview, Abhijeet Bhattacharya explained the reason for this distance and said that Shahrukh Khan’s ego and his self-respect became the biggest reason for the break of this relationship.

She said, “Shahrukh Khan’s ego and my self-respect—these are the reasons for the distance between us. Shahrukh is younger than me, but when Farah Khan’s husband Shirish Kunder abused him so much, she still hugged him. Aamir Khan even named his dog after Shahrukh, and later both became friends.”

Abhijeet said that what hurt him the most was the fact that after the mistake that created distance in the relationship, there was never an apology. He said, “What hurt me the most was that you could not say ‘sorry’ even once. You are such a great person, but not even an apology came.”

Singer also revealed that this entire experience had a deep emotional impact on him. He distanced himself from many projects and reduced singing not only for Shahrukh but also for other artistes.

According to Abhijeet, his voice was so deeply connected with the screen image of Shahrukh Khan that he considered himself a part of that journey. In such a situation, when there was distance in the relationship, they thought it better to separate themselves.

He made it clear that this decision was not taken out of any pride, but due to personal disappointment and emotional injury. He believed that when there is no feeling of respect and belonging, it is better to maintain distance.

There was a time when Abhijeet’s voice and Shahrukh’s face were considered a perfect combination in songs like “Tauba Tumhare Ye Ishaare”, “Woh Ladki Jo”, “Main Koi Aisa Geet Gaoon”. This is the reason why even today fans remember their pairing.
