Share Market: Current tensions in West Asia and the escalating conflict between Iran and the US have hit the market hard. Crude oil prices have soared above $100 per barrel due to the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, a key oil transportation route.
These factors along with other factors led to a major fall in the domestic stock market today. As the market opened, the 30-share Sensex index fell by over 700 points. It opened at 74,309.16. The 50-share Nifty opened at 23,270.30. Among the 30 Sensex stocks, Indigo was the biggest loser, down 2.55% to trade at 4842.05.
