Sharjah Parking Update: Parking timings changed in Sharjah, now you will have to pay till midnight, know the rules

Sharjah Municipality has changed the timing of paid parking in the city. Now in many areas parking will have to be paid till midnight. This new rule will affect migrants and people who drive to the city daily or live there.

New parking rules and timings

According to the municipality, now parking fees will have to be paid from 8 am to 12 midnight in Blue Zones, which are also called seven-day zones. This rule will be applicable all seven days of the week, including Fridays and public holidays. The vehicle can be parked in these zones only for a maximum of 4 hours.

At the same time, parking timings in the standard zone will be from 8 am to 10 pm. This rule will be applicable from Saturday to Thursday, while parking will be free on Fridays and holidays. Parking timings in Al Dhaid Industrial Area and Kalba City have also been kept from 8 am to 10 pm. Now in the Blue Zone of Khorfakkan, payment will have to be made till 12 midnight so that parking facilities in tourist areas can be increased.

Ramadan and special discounts

Parking timings in most public areas during Ramadan 2026 remain from 8 am to 12 midnight (Saturday to Thursday). In the Blue Zone, this time was from 8 am to 12 midnight every day. During the month of Ramzan, facility of one hour free parking after Azaan was also provided near the mosques.

Fine and method of payment

  • Grace period: After parking the vehicle, 10 minutes are given. If payment is not made during this period, a fine of 150 AED will be imposed.
  • Payment Methods: People can pay through the parking machine, mobile app or SMS (by sending a message to 5566).
  • Electric Carts: Electric vehicles (EV) will get 2 hours of free parking at charging stations in the Blue Zones.
