Shock to BJP in Varanasi, only 307 votes left in Gorakhpur, defeat in Nagpur too

UP MLC Election: The results of the Legislative Council elections have sparked a new discussion about the election strategy of BJP. While the party lost in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s parliamentary constituency Varanasi, the contest was very close in Gorakhpur, which is dominated by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Congress’s victory in Nagpur, Maharashtra has presented another challenge to BJP. Amidst these results, political turmoil may intensify regarding the upcoming Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.

BJP had to face defeat on the teacher seat of Varanasi section. At the same time, party candidate Dhruv Tripathi had to fight hard to win in Gorakhpur-Faizabad teachers constituency. He defeated independent candidate Rajiv Yadav by just 307 votes. The victory by such a small margin brought this match into discussion.

The role of Samajwadi Party was also important in this election. The party had given ticket to BJP rebel Sanjay, but according to election data, independent candidate Rajeev Yadav also got support. However, on the basis of these figures alone, it cannot be decided who the SP voters voted for.

Congress wins again in Nagpur

In Maharashtra’s Nagpur graduates constituency, sitting Congress MLC Abhijeet Vanjari won for the second consecutive time, defeating BJP candidate Sudhakar Kohale by 3,271 votes. Vanjari got a total of 67,231 votes, while Kohale got 63,960 votes.

Let us tell you that Nagpur is the home town of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari. In such a situation, BJP’s defeat here is being considered politically important.
