Shraddha Kapoor's 'Itha' changes release date, hits theaters on December 4; Triple clash will be made at the box office

New Delhi. There has been a big change in the release date of Shraddha Kapoor's much awaited film 'Itha'. This film, directed by Laxman Utekar, was earlier scheduled to release in theaters on 28 August 2026, but now the makers have postponed its release to 4 December 2026. The biggest reason for changing the release date of the film is considered to be the clash at the box office. Actually, South Superstar Yash's most awaited film 'Toxic' is going to be released on 26th August. In such a situation, releasing 'Itha' at a gap of just two days would have resulted in a direct competition between the two films. The makers have decided to release the film in December to avoid this possible clash.

Although the August clash has been averted, 'Itha' is still going to face a big challenge in December. The film will reach theaters on December 4 and Akshay Kumar and Anees Bazmee's untitled comedy film is also set to release on the same day. Apart from this, Prabhas's much talked about film 'Fauji' will hit the theaters a day earlier i.e. on 3rd December. In such a situation, there can be a fierce competition between films at the box office in the first week of December. On one hand, Shraddha Kapoor's 'Itha' will have to compete with Prabhas' Pan India film, while on the other hand, Akshay Kumar's comedy film will also try to attract the audience.

A major reason for the audience's interest in 'Itha' is its story and Shraddha Kapoor's character. The film is said to be a biopic based on the life of famous Marathi Tamasha and Lavani folk artist Vithabai Narayangaonkar. Shraddha Kapoor is playing the lead role in this and this character is considered to be a different kind of challenge for her. Along with him, experienced actors like Randeep Hooda and Mohammad Zeeshan Ayyub will also be seen in important roles in the film.

The film is being directed by Laxman Utekar while it is being produced under the banner of Maddock Films and Kathputli Creations. Shraddha Kapoor and Laxman Utekar have come together for the first time for this film, hence the audience is curious about their pairing. The makers can now prepare the promotion strategy of the film for its December release.

  • Overall, despite avoiding the clash with 'Toxic', the path of December is not easy for 'Ithaa'. With the films of Prabhas, Akshay Kumar and Shraddha Kapoor releasing around this time, the competition at the box office could be quite interesting. Now it has to be seen how much Shraddha Kapoor's 'Itha' is able to attract the attention of the audience among these big films.
