The outlet, located on the second floor of Marina Square, Singapore, appears to have shut in June after its lease expired.
“The Hao Mart Eccellente outlet at Marina Square came to a natural lease expiry and there were no outstanding matters arising from the lease,” a SingLand spokesperson said in response to queries from The Straits Times. SingLand is a co-owner of Marina Square.

With the closure, all Hao Mart Eccellente outlets have ceased operations. At least seven other Eccellente outlets, including those at KINEX, Far East Plaza, and East Village, had already closed.
Hao Mart also appears to have significantly reduced its retail footprint. Only six stores still operating, in Bedok, Canberra, Pasir Ris, Bukit Panjang, Potong Pasir, and Whampoa.
But Hao Mart’s website continued to list 20 outlets, including Eccellente locations and other stores that had already ceased operations.
The latest closure follows a difficult period for the retailer. Hao Mart posted a loss of $49.6 million for the financial year ended March 31, 2025, marking its third straight year of widening losses.
The retailer has also become entangled in a series of legal disputes related to its business operations and former tenancies.
It is facing five High Court lawsuits, including two involving department store operator OG, as well as separate cases involving property agency PropNex Realty and one of its agents, skincare company Belovie, and hair and scalp care company Bio Organicare Scalp.
Department store operator OG has sued Hao Mart for allegedly breaching its lease agreement by failing to pay rent between January and November 2024 and by subletting parts of the premises without obtaining approval, according to The Business Times. OG seeks SGD6.6 million (US$5.1 million) from the retailer.
The lawsuits largely stem from the closure of Hao Mart’s Taste Orchard concept, which has since ceased operations.
Hao Mart was founded in 2018 and positioned itself as a neighborhood supermarket and convenience store chain. It later expanded into several retail formats, including Hao Mart, the premium Eccellente grocery stores, and Taste Orchard, a food-focused lifestyle mall that replaced the former OG Orchard Point.
