“Sometimes, despite your best efforts, things happen that are simply beyond your control,” the business said while announcing its closure on Instagram last Thursday.
“And this time, there isn’t another door to open,” it added.

The business was founded in 2012 by self-taught baker Nursyazanna Syaira Mohammad Suhimi and her now-husband, Ashraf Alami, to help fund their wedding, according to Channel News Asia.
Fluff Bakery then gained attention online and was best known for its cupcakes. It opened its first shop in 2013 to much success and was selling more than 2,000 cupcakes a day at its peak in 2015.
Building on their success before and during the Covid-19 pandemic, the couple decided to expand the business, but declining sales and rising costs later prompted them to close the bakery last September.
The business made a comeback in early January under a new name, Big Mouth Bakehouse, selling artisanal bakes including cakes, bomboloni and shio pan, according to AsiaOne.
A February report by The Straits Times said the couple was still paying off debt accrued from Fluff Bakery.
Reflecting on its 13-year journey, the bakery thanked customers for their support in its Instagram post.
“But most of all, we hope you know that we really, truly tried,” it said.
