Heritage hawker stall Golden Mile Special Yong Tau Foo at the Golden Mile Food Centre in Singapore has closed after 68 years in business.
An adjacent unit at the hawker center broke the news on its Facebook page late last month, adding that the yong tau foo stall will be replaced by an authentic Chinese dessert stall.
“My neighbouring stall, Golden Mile Special Yong Tau Foo, has officially ceased operation,” Ah Xiao Teochew Braised Duck wrote in the post.
Golden Mile Special Yong Tau Foo has no known social media presence of its own and has not officially announced any details regarding the closure.

The stall was run by second-generation hawkers Chng and his sister. Its roots trace back to 1958, when their father started a pushcart business along Jalan Sultan before joining the pioneer batch of hawkers at Golden Mile Food Centre when it opened in 1975.
Chng used to play at the hawker center as a boy and later helped out with the family business, eventually taking over its operations, according to a 2020 report by Mothership.
The stall charged S$0.60 (US$0.47) per yong tau foo ingredient, with a minimum order of eight pieces costing S$4.80. The stall was still attracting long queues as recently as February this year, and its food often sold out by lunchtime, according to 8days.
