Situation changed after US-Iran talks, India issued new advisory, read this warning before travelling.
New Delhi: The Indian government has given some relief in its travel advisory regarding Iran. The Indian Embassy in Tehran, the capital of Iran, has said in a new advisory issued on June 24 that the security situation in the country has become better than before. However, despite this, Indian citizens have been advised to avoid non-essential travel to Iran for the time being.
The embassy said it is continuously monitoring the security situation in Iran and the advisory has been updated in view of recent positive developments. Nevertheless, it has been advised to travel only in essential circumstances until further notice.
Indians instructed to remain alert
The Indian Embassy has asked Indian citizens living in Iran and people going there for essential reasons to take special precautions. According to the advisory, citizens should remain alert at all times and keep an eye on the surrounding conditions.
Along with this, people have also been advised to keep getting information about local developments from reliable sources and follow the instructions issued by the Iranian administration.
Appeal to register at the embassy
The Embassy has urged all Indian citizens present in Iran and travelers arriving there to register themselves as soon as possible. With this, the Indian Mission will be able to help them in any emergency.
Also, citizens have been asked to regularly keep an eye on the official website and social media platforms of the Embassy so that they can get new updates and important information on time.
Situation changed after America-Iran talks
This revised advisory has come at a time when there have been reports of positive progress in the ongoing talks between America and Iran. The first round of talks was recently concluded to end the long-running tension between the two countries.
The mediating countries have claimed that there has been encouraging progress in the talks and have agreed to work towards a comprehensive agreement within the next 60 days. This has increased the hope of reducing tension in the area.
Still need to be careful
There have been signs of improvement in the security situation, but the Indian Embassy believes that the situation has not yet completely returned to normal. This is the reason why India has given a message of caution along with relief. Indian citizens have been advised to avoid non-essential travel for the time being and follow official instructions.
