Weather Update – IMD Issues Heavy Rain Alert for 15 States for June 25, 26, 27, 28, 29 & 30
Weather Update: Rains have brought much relief to the people amid scorching heat and humidity in many parts of the country. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert for heavy rain, thunderstorms and strong winds in most states of the country. The southwest monsoon has now picked up speed in several more states of the country. The southwest monsoon has entered parts of Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh, the rest of Maharashtra and parts of Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand today, June 24, 2026, the Met Department said in its latest bulletin. According to the IMD, a heavy rainfall alert has been issued for close to 15 states in the country over the next 2-3 days.
An alert has been issued for light rain and thunderstorms in several areas, including Delhi-NCR and UP-Bihar. The Met department says that the weather will continue in different parts of the country till June 30.

According to the Met Department, heavy rainfall (7-20 cm) is expected along the West Coast, Northeast India, and sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim this week; extremely heavy rainfall is likely in sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim on June 27 and 28. Besides, a heat wave is expected in eastern Uttar Pradesh for the next 4-5 days and in northeast Madhya Pradesh and Bihar for the next 2-3 days.
Weather in Northeast India?
According to the Met department, rains will continue in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura till June 30. Heavy rains are expected in Assam and Meghalaya between June 26 and 28.
Weather in South India
An alert has been issued for heavy rains in coastal Karnataka and Telangana from June 24 to 30. Besides, an alert has been issued for heavy rains in various parts of Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh between June 27 and 30.
Weather in Delhi, Haryana and Punjab
An alert has been issued for light rain in these three states from June 24 to 26, and again from June 29 to 30.
Weather in Uttar Pradesh
Scattered rains are expected in eastern Uttar Pradesh on June 24-25 and June 28-29. Meanwhile, western Uttar Pradesh will receive sporadic rains on June 25 and June 29-30. Besides, heavy rains are expected in eastern Uttar Pradesh on June 30.

Weather in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh
An alert has been issued for light to moderate rain in the hill states from June 24 to 28. Besides, an alert has been issued in view of heavy rains in several parts of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh on June 29 and 30.

Rajasthan weather
Rain may continue in eastern and western Rajasthan from June 24 to 30. Dust storms and thunderstorms are expected in western Rajasthan on June 25.
Andaman and Nicobar Weather
According to the Met Department, rains are expected in Andaman and Nicobar Islands and sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim during June 24-30. An alert has been issued for rain in Gangia, West Bengal, during June 27-30.


Weather in Bihar and Jharkhand
Bihar is likely to witness sporadic rain from June 24 to 27 and again from June 29 to 30. Widespread rain is likely in many parts of Bihar on June 28. Jharkhand is likely to witness heavy rains from June 25 to 27 and June 29-30. Similar weather may be seen in Odisha on June 24-25 and June 28.
Weather in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh
According to the Met Department, an alert has been issued for rain in Madhya Pradesh from June 24 to 30. A heavy rain alert has been issued in Chhattisgarh between June 26 and 29. Besides, strong lightning is also expected in these areas on June 24 and 25.
