Its first is a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine, which generates power of 113 bhp and torque of 178 Nm. It is offered with a 6-speed manual gearbox as well as a new 8-speed automatic gearbox. At the same time, for those who want more power, a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder turbo petrol engine has been provided, which produces 148 bhp power and 250 Nm torque. This powerful engine is paired with 7-speed DSG automatic transmission.
On the other hand, Honda City only gets a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine option. This engine delivers power of 119 bhp and torque of 145 Nm. In this, customers get the option of 6-speed manual and 7-speed CVT automatic. In terms of performance and figures, the 1.5-litre turbo engine of the Slavia feels much more powerful and faster than the Honda City.
Features and cabin comfort
Skoda has made many major changes in its new Slavia in terms of features available inside the cabin. For the first time, it has been provided with the feature of massage seats for the rear passengers, which makes long distance journeys very comfortable. Apart from this, 360-degree camera and front parking sensors have been added to make safety and parking easier. The interior gets premium features like 10.25-inch digital driver display, 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, sunroof, auto-dimming IRVM and rain-sensing wipers.
Honda City is also in a very strong position in the race of comfort and features. This sedan has features like 10.1-inch touchscreen display, wireless connectivity, front ventilated seats and wireless smartphone charger. Along with this, the vehicle has modern features like walkaway auto-lock, remote AC control and electronic sunroof, which prove to be quite practical in everyday use.
Cost and budget estimation
The starting ex-showroom price of Honda City in the Indian market is Rs 11.99 lakh. At the same time, Skoda has not yet announced the official prices of Slavia facelift. However, automobile industry experts estimate that the company can launch it in the market at a possible starting ex-showroom price of Rs 9.99 lakh to Rs 10.29 lakh. If this prediction proves to be correct, then the new Slavia could become a very affordable and value-for-money option compared to the Honda City in its initial variants.
