Baliya: Ballia-based social activist and former head Smriti Singh represented Uttar Pradesh at the BRICS Dialogue 2026 held in New Delhi. This two-day main conference, organized under the chairmanship of India, is being held from 12 to 13 September at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. Smriti Singh, former head of Ratsarkalan, was invited by NITI Aayog for this important international dialogue.
On Saturday, Smriti Singh got the opportunity to present her views in the conference. On the international platform, he presented the issues related to women, youth and social changes happening at the grassroots level in India, especially in rural India, in front of the representatives from different countries.
Issues raised from women empowerment to rural development
Smriti Singh shared her views on topics like women empowerment, rural development, education, health, youth leadership, cleanliness and social development. He also informed the international delegates about the increasing participation of women and youth in rural areas and the positive changes taking place under their leadership.
He emphasized on the social changes taking place in rural India and the role of women and youth at the grassroots level to reach the global platform.
Has participated in the United Nations Women's Conference earlier also
Smriti Singh has also participated in the United Nations Women's Conference before this. He said that the opportunity to present India's point of view on an international platform like BRICS Dialogue and to convey the voice of rural society, women and youth of Uttar Pradesh to the representatives from different countries of the world is a matter of pride for him.
She also participated in the program of Parliament House in 2024
In the year 2024, Smriti Singh also participated in the 'Presence of Panchayat Representatives in Parliament' program organized at Parliament House. She was the only Panchayat representative from Uttar Pradesh to participate in this program. During this, he shared his experiences related to the Panchayati Raj system.
Pledge taken to donate body after death
Along with works related to social concerns, Smriti Singh has also pledged to donate her entire body for medical research after death to serve humanity.
Apart from this, she has donated her hair twice for women suffering from cancer. According to him, the donated hair is delivered to needy women through a voluntary organization in Tamil Nadu.
Smriti Singh says that body donation will contribute to medical research and training, while hair donation will help boost the confidence of women battling cancer.
