Somnath Amrit Mahotsav: PM Modi said – Reconstruction of Somnath is a proclamation of India’s independent consciousness.

Somnath. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said the reconstruction of the Somnath temple, which began 75 years ago, was not just a religious event, but a proclamation of India’s independent consciousness and restoration of its ancient glory. While addressing the ‘Amrit Mahotsav’ organized on the completion of 75 years of Vigraha Pratishtha in the Somnath temple, PM Modi said, “Today we are celebrating 75 years of the Vigrah Pratishtha of that Devadhidev Mahadev, who is the one who is timeless and is the embodiment of time, according to whose will the time itself appears.”

He said that Somnath is not just a center of faith but is a symbol of India’s soul and eternal consciousness. The Prime Minister said, “Today we are celebrating the reconstruction of the abode of the one who creates this world and gives rhythm to it. Somnath Amrit Mahotsav is being organized today in the shelter of those who became Neelkanth after drinking Halaal.” Describing himself as a “devout devotee of Dada Somnath”, PM Modi said that he has come here many times, but this time while reaching here, he had a special experience of “travelling through time”.

He said that the reconstruction of Somnath temple 75 years ago was a symbol of the self-confidence of independent India. Modi said that after independence, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel laid the foundation of modern India by unifying more than 500 princely states and through the reconstruction of Somnath, gave a message to the world that India has not only become independent, but is also on the path to regaining its ancient glory.

He said that Somnath Swabhiman festival was celebrated a few months ago and now there is an opportunity to complete 75 years of Pran Pratistha. He described it as an experience of “the nectar journey of a thousand years”. Modi said that Somnath Amrit Mahotsav is not only a celebration of the past, but also a festival of inspiration for India for the next one thousand years. On this occasion, Modi greeted the countrymen and crores of devotees of Lord Somnath.

The Prime Minister said that May 11 is special for another reason because on this day in 1998, nuclear tests were conducted in Pokhran. He said that India had demonstrated its capability and capacity to the world by conducting three nuclear tests on May 11. He said that after the tests, many world powers tried to put pressure on India and imposed economic sanctions, but despite this, two more nuclear tests were conducted on May 13, which showed the world the political will of India.

Modi said that the Bharatiya Janata Party government under the leadership of the then Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee had made it clear that the nation is supreme and no power in the world can bend India. He said that the Pokhran nuclear test was named “Operation Shakti” because India’s tradition has been associated with the worship of Shiva and Shakti. The Prime Minister expressed hope that this worship of Shiva and Shakti will also become an inspiration for the scientific progress of the country.
