Sonam Wangchuk On Dharmendra Pradhan Resignation: Social activists after the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan Sonam Wangchuk Giving the first reaction, he said that this is a victory of democracy. The movement is not over yet

Meanwhile, the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) has welcomed Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation but has clarified that the students’ agitation is not over yet. Addressing the students at Jantar-Mantar, party founder Abhijit Deepke, spokesperson Sourav Das and Ashutosh Ranka said that the agitation will continue until the government gives written assurance on three major demands.

Three major demands placed before the government

In the discussion with the government, the CJP representatives made the following three demands.

Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation.

Financial assistance of Rs 1 crore each to families of students who committed suicide after NEET paper leak.

To withdraw all the cases filed against the students involved in the agitation.

The government had given a positive stand on the last two demands, while a decision on Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation would be announced later. JP Nadda and Jitendra Singh participated in this meeting on behalf of the central government.

Allegations of collusion with the government were denied

Earlier, Sonam Wangchuk had denied the allegations of any compromise with the government. He said that he called off his 26-day hunger strike only after getting a written assurance from the government. He clarified that he left the hunger strike only after receiving a written assurance that no legal action would be taken against the protesting students.

Wangchuk also shared a video on YouTube showing the scene of the altercation with security guards at Safdarjung Hospital. In the video, he is seen demanding, “Arrest me or let me go.” He reiterated that he called off the fast only to prevent any repression or violent action against the students.
