Southeast Asia’s second most visited country welcomes 19.7 million tourists so far this year

Thailand welcomed 19.7 million international visitors between Jan. 1 and Aug. 15, down 3.19% from a year earlier, but the tourism outlook is showing clearer signs of improvement toward year-end.

China remained the largest source market with 3.3 million visitors, followed by Malaysia with 2.4 million and India with 1.4 million, the Tourism and Sports Ministry said.

Russia ranked fourth with 1.1 million arrivals, while South Korea was fifth with 729,367.
