Marvel Studios’ Spider-Man: Brand New Day has achieved a major box office milestone, crossing the $1 billion mark worldwide in just six days, making it the second-fastest film in history to reach the coveted milestone.
Starring Tom Holland as Peter Parker, the latest Spider-Man installment has enjoyed a record-breaking theatrical run since its release, driven by strong performances across North America and international markets.
Second Only to Avengers: Endgame
Despite its remarkable performance, Spider-Man: Brand New Day narrowly missed becoming the fastest film to gross $1 billion globally.
That record continues to belong to Avengers: Endgame, which surpassed the milestone in five days following its 2019 release. The Marvel blockbuster earned more than $1.2 billion during its extended global opening weekend.
Brand New Day reached $1.053 billion worldwide after adding $47 million in North America and $73 million from overseas markets on its sixth day.
Record-Breaking Opening Weekend
The film registered the biggest opening in North American box office history, earning $360 million across the United States and Canada during its opening weekend.
Internationally, it collected $572 million over the same period. Its staggered global rollout, including an early release in several overseas markets such as Belgium and India, contributed to its impressive worldwide earnings.
Among the Fastest $1 Billion Grossers
Only a handful of films have reached the billion-dollar milestone within days of release. Following Avengers: Endgame and Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Avengers: Infinity War reached the mark in 11 days, while Chinese blockbuster Ne Zha 2 took 12 days.
James Cameron’s Titanic, the first film in history to cross $1 billion globally, reached the milestone after 74 days during its theatrical run in 1997.
