‘Stay within your limits Owaisi…’: Akhilesh’s MP shows mirror to AIMIM Chief on alliance offer

Owaisi’s wishes dashed before Uttar Pradesh elections, SP MP rejects offer

Just before the 2027 assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) President Asaduddin Owaisi has suffered a major setback. Keeping the UP elections in mind, the first very sharp and official statement has now come out from SP’s side on the open offer of alliance given by Owaisi to Samajwadi Party. Samajwadi Party MP from Rampur Mohibullah Nadvi has completely rejected this ‘friend request’ of Owaisi. He has indicated in very clear words that due to Owaisi’s narrow politics it is impossible to have any kind of alliance with him. After this strong statement of the SP MP, Owaisi’s entire strategy has got a big blow, through which he was dreaming of entering the electoral fray with the SP-Congress alliance.

“SP believes in taking everyone along, Owaisi should limit himself to his politics”

While talking to the media in Delhi, Samajwadi Party MP from Rampur Mohibullah Nadvi said in blunt words that Samajwadi Party always believes in the inclusive ideology of taking every section and every section of the society along. As far as Asaduddin Owaisi Sahab is concerned, his politics is limited to a very limited scope.

The SP MP further said, “SP has always been a well-wisher of the entire society, whereas Owaisi has his own special and different political thinking from which he is unable to come out. This is the reason why it seems very difficult to establish any kind of coordination with him. However, any final decision in this matter has to be taken only by the national president of our party, Akhilesh Yadav ji and the top leadership. Owaisi Saheb has worked hard in Telangana and other states of South India, so it would be better for him if he Put your full attention there.”

Targeted Owaisi citing Waqf Amendment Bill

Launching a strong attack on Asaduddin Owaisi’s continuous Muslim-centric politics, Mohibullah Nadvi said that the Muslim community of India has always lived in harmony and brotherhood with its Hindu brothers and other neighboring communities. Strengthening his point, he gave the big example of the Waqf Amendment Bill recently introduced in the Parliament and strongly advocated the secular model of the Samajwadi Party.

Refreshing old memories, Nadvi said that when the BJP government at the Center had introduced the Waqf Amendment Bill in the Parliament, a total of 232 MPs of the opposition ‘India’ alliance in this 543-member House had strongly opposed it in one voice. He sarcastically said that if our politics was limited only to Muslim votes, we would never have got such wide and strong support of 232 MPs from other sections of the society within the Parliament.

SP is firm on PDA formula, does not want to give any chance to BJP

According to political experts and analysts, in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Muslim voters of Uttar Pradesh had completely rejected Owaisi’s party and unilaterally voted in favor of the SP-Congress alliance. Due to this, Owaisi had to face a heavy defeat and his electoral ground had slipped. There is talk in political circles that Owaisi was trying to put pressure on SP by showing fear of division of Muslim votes, but Samajwadi Party does not want to deviate at all from its infallible social engineering formula of ‘PDA’ i.e. Backward, Dalit and Minority.

SP understands very well that if it shares the stage with Asaduddin Owaisi, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will immediately get a big opportunity to play the ‘appeasement’ card and consolidate Hindu votes. Akhilesh Yadav wants to defeat BJP in the 2027 elections on the strength of ‘PDA’. This latest statement of Rampur MP Mohibullah Nadvi is the biggest proof that SP does not want to tarnish its secular image at any cost by associating Owaisi with itself.
