Stir from Lucknow to Delhi, why did Shia religious leader Maulana Javed Haider Zaidi corner the government on NEET controversy?

The anger of the youth of the country regarding alleged rigging in NEET and CBSE examinations has now reached the seventh sky. On Saturday, Jantar Mantar of the capital Delhi witnessed a massive protest by students and youth. This huge movement organized under the banner of ‘Cockroach Janata Party’ (CJP) is getting support from every corner of the country. In this series, senior Shia religious leader and powerful speaker Maulana Javed Haider Zaidi from Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, has announced his official and full support to this student movement, which has given a new moral strength to this fight.

In fact, there has been an uproar in the entire country since the results of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG 2026). Hundreds of students, young professionals and social workers had started gathering at Jantar Mantar since Saturday morning. The anger of the youth was clearly visible in this demonstration led by CJP founder Abhijit Dipke. The protesters, holding placards and posters in their hands, were continuously demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The students’ direct allegation is that frequent paper leaks and administrative negligence have pushed the future of crores of youth into darkness.

Sonam Wangchuk and Rohit Pawar also reached Jantar Mantar

How big is the resonance of this student movement can be gauged from the fact that the country’s famous educationist and innovator Sonam Wangchuk himself reached Jantar Mantar to encourage the students. He justified the demands of the youth. Apart from him, many other political personalities including NCP (Sharad Chandra Pawar) MLA Rohit Pawar also came into the field and supported this movement of CJP. More than 1,000 Delhi Police and paramilitary forces were deployed to ensure that no untoward incident takes place during the agitation. The atmosphere heated up a bit when the police took some protesters into preventive custody to maintain peace.

“The trust of lakhs of families has been murdered” – Maulana Javed Haider Zaidi

On the other hand, during a press conference in Lucknow, Shia religious leader Maulana Javed Haider Zaidi took on the central government and the agencies conducting the examination. Maulana Zaidi said in very strong words, “Today, the voice of the youth of the country who are fighting for their rights in the scorching heat at Jantar Mantar cannot be suppressed. The rigging that has come to light in NEET and other examinations is not only an administrative failure but a murder of the trust of lakhs of families. The determination with which the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) is fighting this battle of the youth on the streets, I am completely with them in this just struggle. I am.” He further said that if the sanctity of examinations is not secure, then how will the future of the country be secure? The government should take immediate and transparent action on this.

CJP’s big bet from social media to streets

Political analysts believe that this campaign of Cockroach Janata Party, which started from social media, has now become a big mass movement at the grassroots level. After this step of an influential and respected religious leader like Maulana Zaidi in Uttar Pradesh, this unity of students and youth is going to become even stronger in the coming days. It is clear that the spark that started over the NEET controversy is not going to cool down easily, and all-round pressure on the government is increasing.
