Mumbai: There was a rise in the Indian stock market in early trading on Monday. BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty opened with gains due to buying in shares of many major companies including HDFC Bank and Infosys. Positive global cues also supported the market sentiment.
In early trade, the Sensex rose 202.42 points to 77,744.15. Whereas Nifty was seen trading at 24,309 points with a gain of 55.35 points.
The biggest rise in these shares
Among the 30 companies included in the Sensex, shares of Infosys, HCL Tech, Tata Steel, Tech Mahindra, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and HDFC Bank were the major gainers during early trade.
In contrast, shares of Asian Paints, Titan, Power Grid and Bharat Electronics declined.

Despite the rise in the Indian market, weakness was seen in the major stock markets of Asia. South Korea's Kospi, Japan's Nikkei 225, China's SSE Composite and Hong Kong's Hang Seng were trading in decline.
At the same time, American stock markets closed with gains on Friday.
Fall in crude oil price
In the international market, Brent crude futures fell 1.32 percent to $ 93.14 per barrel. However, according to experts, global tensions and high crude oil prices are putting pressure on investors' risk appetite.
FII sold Rs 542 crore
According to stock market data, foreign institutional investors (FIIs) made a net sale of shares worth Rs 542.71 crore in the Indian market on Friday.
Earlier on Friday, the Sensex had closed with a slight gain of 3.11 points. At the same time, a rise of 20.15 points was recorded in Nifty.
