Colombo: Rishabh Pant achieved another big feat during the second Test being played between India and Sri Lanka in Colombo. Pant, who returned to bat on the second day of the match, hit another six and took his number of sixes in Test cricket to 101. With this, he left behind former Australian wicketkeeper batsman Adam Gilchrist.
Gilchrist had hit 100 sixes in his Test career after playing 96 matches. Pant has left him behind by hitting 101 sixes in just 52 Test matches.
Pant came out to bat again on the second day after injury
Rishabh Pant suffered a hand injury on the first day during India's first innings. After the injury, he retired hurt and went out of the field.
After the dismissal of Saransh Jain on the second day, Pant once again came on the field to bat. After his return, he continued batting in his aggressive style and hit another brilliant six.
With this six, Pant completed 101 sixes in Test cricket.

Pant has now reached third place in the list of batsmen who have hit most sixes in Test cricket.
- Ben Stokes: 122 Tests, 138 sixes
- Brendon McCullum: 101 Tests, 107 sixes
- Rishabh Pant: 52 Tests, 101 sixes
- Adam Gilchrist: 96 Tests, 100 sixes
Pant is now just seven sixes away from Brendon McCullum's record of 107 sixes. In such a situation, his next target will be to leave McCullum behind in Test cricket.
More than 300 runs in India's first innings
In the two-Test series against Sri Lanka, the Indian team has taken a 1-0 lead by winning the first match. Now Team India is eyeing a clean sweep in the series by winning the second test.
More than 300 runs have been scored in the first innings of the Indian team and the team is moving towards a strong position. Along with winning the Test series, India is also eyeing to improve its position in the points table of the World Test Championship.
At present the Indian team is at fifth position in the points table. If it wins the second test, there will be a possibility of reaching fourth place.
