“STOP SHOOTING”: Trump urges Israel and Iran to stop attacks immediately

U.S. President Donald Trump on Monday urged Israel and Iran to immediately halt hostilities as fresh exchanges of missile attacks and airstrikes intensified concerns about a broader conflict in the Middle East.

Taking to his Truth Social platform, Trump called for an immediate end to the violence, stating that both nations must stop “shooting” and avoid further escalation.

The appeal came after a renewed round of direct military confrontation between Israel and Iran. Iran launched missile attacks targeting Israel, while Israeli forces reportedly carried out strikes inside Iran, including attacks on radar installations and air defense systems designed to clear operational routes for Israeli aircraft.

Israeli officials indicated that the military is preparing for an extended campaign and has already approved plans for additional strikes if necessary. The latest developments have raised fears that the conflict could expand beyond the two countries and destabilize the wider region.

Iran also issued a warning that it could target oil and gas facilities associated with Israel, the United States, and their allies if attacks on energy infrastructure continue. Iran’s Revolutionary Guards claimed responsibility for an attack on industrial sites in the Israeli city of Haifa, describing it as retaliation for a previous strike on an Iranian petrochemical facility.

The conflict has also drawn in regional actors. Yemen’s Houthi rebels announced the renewal of a naval blockade against Israel and declared the closure of the strategically important Bab el-Mandeb Strait to Israeli shipping. The group also claimed responsibility for missile launches toward the Tel Aviv region.

According to Israel Defense Forces spokesperson Brig. Gen. Effie Defrin, Iran violated a two-month ceasefire by launching missile attacks against Israel. Defrin stated that Israel had not breached the truce and confirmed that 22 missiles were fired from Iran overnight, along with two missiles launched from Yemen.

Israeli military officials said they are prepared for several days of fighting, or potentially longer, depending on developments on the ground. The continued exchange of attacks has heightened international concerns about regional security, energy supplies, and the possibility of a broader military confrontation involving multiple countries.
