Tezzbuzz Desk- In the 34th match of IPL 2026, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) registered a spectacular victory by defeating Gujarat Titans (GT) by 5 wickets. The match was played at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru, where RCB won the toss and elected to bowl first.
Batting first, Gujarat Titans scored 205 runs losing 3 wickets in 20 overs. Young batsman Sai Sudarshan scored an excellent century for the team. He scored 100 runs in 58 balls, which included 11 fours and 5 sixes. Apart from them, Shubman Gill contributed 32 runs, Jos Buttler contributed 25 runs and Jason Holder contributed 23 unbeaten runs. For RCB, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Josh Hazlewood and Suyyash Sharma got one wicket each.
Chasing the target of 206 runs, RCB won the match by losing 5 wickets in 18.5 overs. Team’s star batsman Virat Kohli played a brilliant inning of 81 runs in 44 balls. Devdutt Padikkal put the team in a strong position by scoring 55 runs in 27 balls. In the end, Krunal Pandya scored unbeaten 23 runs and led the team to victory.
With this win, RCB has taken a big leap in the points table. The team has secured 10 points with 5 wins from 7 matches and has reached the second position with a net run rate of +1.101. Earlier the team was in third place. While Punjab Kings remains on top with 11 points, Rajasthan Royals has slipped to third place with 10 points, as its net run rate is lower than RCB.
On the other hand, this season has been full of ups and downs so far for Gujarat Titans. The team has won only 3 out of 7 matches and lost 4. The team is at seventh position with 6 points and a net run rate of -0.790. To remain in the race for the playoffs, Gujarat will have to perform better in its upcoming matches.
