Nanded. The news of attack on Shiromani Akali Dal leader and former Deputy Chief Minister of Punjab Sukhbir Singh Badal has come to light in Nanded, Maharashtra. It is being told that a Nihang attacked him near Gurudwara Mata Sahib Kaur. Badal sustained injuries in his hand in the attack, after which he was admitted to Yashomati Hospital. Police have arrested one person in the case.
Attack took place near Gurudwara-
According to the police, the attack took place around 11 am. Initial information has revealed that Sukhbir Badal was attacked with a saber. Information about his security guard Santosh Kendre being injured after the attack has also come to light.
In a video surfaced on social media, Sukhbir Badal is seen going inside a building and a cloth is seen tied on his right hand.
Takht Sri Hazur Sahib had reached with his wife-
Before the attack, Sukhbir Badal had reached Takht Sri Hazur Sahib in Nanded with his wife and Akali Dal MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal. After this this incident happened near the Gurudwara.
Fadnavis ordered investigation-
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis took information about the incident from the Superintendent of Police of Nanded. According to the Chief Minister's Office, one accused has been immediately arrested. Police are now investigating the motive behind the attack and other aspects related to the incident.
There was a deadly attack in 2024 also-
Earlier, in December 2024, there was a fatal attack on Sukhbir Badal outside the Golden Temple in Amritsar. At that time, Narayan Singh Chaudhary had tried to shoot at Badal, who was serving under religious punishment. However, he had a narrow escape and the accused was caught on the spot.
