Sunita-Govinda marriage drama ends? Divorce case takes unexpected turn

Sunita Ahuja’s sudden appearance at Mumbai’s Bandra Family Court today, alongside her son Yashvardhan Ahuja and their advocate, has finally been explained, with reports claiming she visited the court to withdraw her divorce case against her husband of 39 years, Govinda.

Making her way out of the court surrounded by paparazzi, the 59-year-old media personality declined to reveal the reason for their visit, instead joking that they were there to celebrate a birthday.

“Birthday manane aaye hai (I came to celebrate birthday),” she quipped before getting into her car.

Now, Govinda’s manager Shashi Sinha has spoken exclusively to HT City and clarified that Sunita’s latest court appearance was actually a positive development, as she had gone there to withdraw the divorce case she filed against the actor on December 5, 2024, under the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955, citing adultery, cruelty and desertion.

“Why is everyone so scared? Sunita ji has taken back her case. This is something to be happy about,” said Shashi.

Commenting on Sunita's body language at the court, the manager added, “Who looked so angry, toh sabko laga hoga kuch problem hui, par ab sab ek hai dono mein.”

The development comes just days after the couple exchanged fiery remarks, with the Cover Up 2 contestant calling out her husband over his alleged extramarital affair with Komal Rani Swarnka and referring to him as a “sugar daddy.”

Hitting back at Sunita, the Naseeb actor told paparazzi that she should know her limits and alleged that she had used abusive language against him.

Sunita Ahuja and Govinda’s relationship

Sunita Ahuja and Govinda are set to mark nearly four decades of marriage, having tied the knot in March 1987. The couple are parents to two children: daughter Tina Ahuja, born in 1989, and son Yashvardhan Ahuja, born in 1997.
