Supreme Court serious on online checking of CBSE copies, said- Government should consider the opportunity for improvement
Supreme Court OSM System CBSE Copy Checking: The Supreme Court has expressed serious concern over the increasing complaints from students regarding the Digital Copy Checking System (OSM) of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). During the hearing, a bench headed by Chief Justice Surya Kant said that due to the digital evaluation system, students are facing continuous problems and this has increased their frustration and disappointment. The court made it clear that this problem cannot be ignored and the government should see it as an opportunity for reform rather than protest.
During the hearing, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta said that most of the individual issues raised in the petition have been resolved. He also informed that S. has been appointed to review and improve the copy checking system. A one-member committee has been formed under the chairmanship of Radha Chauhan. The Supreme Court has asked the Central Government to file a status report in this regard. The next hearing of the case will take place next week. The petition also demands setting up of a high-powered committee to make the evaluation process more transparent and monitor it.
Students’ problems described as serious
The bench headed by Chief Justice Surya Kant has asked Solicitor General Tushar Mehta to cooperate in this matter. The court said that the government should not take this matter as a protest. The Supreme Court wants a permanent solution to this problem. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta told the court that most of the personal matters related to the mark sheets of the students mentioned in the petition have been resolved.
The case will be heard next week
The government is taking the shortcomings of copy checking seriously. For this S. A one-member committee has been formed under the chairmanship of Radha Chauhan, which will review the entire system and give suggestions for improvements. Demand to make transparent rules
In the petition filed by Rakesh Binjola, a demand has been made to make transparent and clear rules for CBSE copy checking. The petition demands that a high-powered committee be formed to monitor these rules. Students who have passed the university or college entrance examination or have taken provisional admission should be exempted from the minimum marks requirement of the board.

Status report sought from government
In fact, even before this, the Supreme Court on Tuesday had issued a notice to the Central Government, Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) on new petitions challenging the revised three-language policy of CBSE.
The court has asked all the parties to file their replies within two weeks. A bench of Chief Justice Surya Kant, Justice Joymalya Bagchi and Justice V. Mohan heard the case and listed it for detailed hearing on July 29.
