Tamil Nadu CM Vijay gave two big gifts to the public, increased the health insurance cover by five times and also increased the milk purchase price.

New Delhi. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay on Wednesday announced two major decisions for the people and milk producers of the state. Vijay has announced to increase the annual health insurance cover from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 25 lakh under the Chief Minister's Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme. Along with this, the milk purchase price for the state-owned dairy company Aavin was increased from Rs 38 to Rs 41 per liter.

Annual insurance amount increased from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 25 lakh

The Chief Minister announced to increase the annual insurance amount under the Chief Minister's Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 25 lakh. He said that health services are not a convenience for a person, but his basic right. Vijay said the government aims to provide better health services to all, regardless of people's income or the area in which they live. The government is also starting many new initiatives to improve the health system.

Milk purchase price increased by three rupees

The Chief Minister also announced to increase the price of milk purchased from farmers by the state-owned dairy company Aavin. Now milk producers will get Rs 41 per liter instead of Rs 38. This will also include an incentive amount of Rs 3 per liter from the government. The Chief Minister made this announcement under Rule 110 in the Assembly. He said that despite the challenging economic situation of the state, this decision has been taken keeping in mind the income and interests of milk producers.

This decision will benefit more than 3.16 lakh milk producers of the state. According to the Chief Minister, increasing the milk purchase price will cost the state government an additional amount of about Rs 30 crore every month. CM Vijay also targeted the previous DMK government on this issue. He alleged that the previous government made no efforts towards increasing the procurement price for milk producers.

What was announced for the MLAs?

Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay on Wednesday announced government vehicles and monthly allowance for MLAs so that they can address public grievances in their respective constituencies. Making the announcement under Rule 110 in the Assembly, he said the new facilities like carriage and allowances for MLAs will help them roam around their constituencies, listen to public grievances and monitor government projects. For this they will not have to depend on others.
