Bhavnagar. Two people died after allegedly drinking spurious liquor in Bhavnagar district of Gujarat, while 19 others have been admitted to the hospital. Officials gave this information on Wednesday. Police have detained four liquor smugglers in the case. According to officials, all the affected people drank liquor from counterfeit bottles of an Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) brand.

After this they were taken to the hospital, where two people died during treatment. 19 other people are undergoing treatment in the hospital. It is noteworthy that Gujarat is a 'Dry State'. Manufacture, sale and consumption of liquor is prohibited in the state. Despite this, cases of illegal sale and smuggling of liquor have been coming to the fore. At present the police is investigating the matter and the four detained people are being interrogated.
