After leaving BJP, Annamalai started a new movement, more than 15 lakh people joined in a few hours

Tamil Nadu: Former Tamil Nadu BJP president K. Annamalai has started a new political movement just a few days after resigning from the party. This movement has been named ‘We The Leader’. This initiative is inspired by the thoughts and principles of former President of India and great scientist Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. Within a few hours of the start of the movement, more than 15 lakh people have been claimed to have joined.

Attempt to carry forward Kalam’s thinking

Annamalai has also announced the creation of a training and research institute named ‘Kalam Center for Ethics and Politics’ in Coimbatore. He says that this institute will work to prepare the youth in the fields of leadership, morality and politics. Annamalai described Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam as a symbol of excellence, sacrifice, dedication, unity and nationalism. He said that efforts will be made to give a new political direction in Tamil Nadu on the basis of Kalam’s thinking.

Stayed with BJP for six years

Let us tell you that K. Annamalai was associated with the Bharatiya Janata Party for the last six years. He was counted among the prominent and vocal leaders of BJP in South India. However, on June 5, he officially resigned from the party. After his resignation, he had indicated that he would soon start a new political initiative. Now the ‘We the Leader’ movement is being considered as the first big step in the same direction.

Eye on 2031 assembly elections

During the online address, Annamalai talked in detail about his life, political journey and future plans. A 42-year-old former IPS officer said that the decision to leave BJP was not taken suddenly. This was part of a long-running internal process, about which he had already informed the party leadership. Annamalai’s aim is to take this movement forward and form a new political party, which can participate in the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections of 2031.
