Samajwadi Party's national president and former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav announced the party's strategy for the 2027 assembly elections after the state executive meeting at the party's state headquarters on Sunday. He said that SP will contest the elections with the aim of increasing 27 thousand votes in every assembly constituency. He said that the party will increase direct contact with the public with the use of technology and will make cooperation and respectful behavior of people in providing justice a part of the election strategy.
Taking aim at the BJP government, Akhilesh Yadav said that every section of the society has suffered in the last ten years. He alleged that farmers did not get the cost price of their crops and the promise of doubling farmers' income was not fulfilled. He also alleged that farmers are not getting adequate share in the profits from sugarcane. He said that the youth in the state are struggling with the problem of unemployment and inflation has increased the problems of the common people.
Accusations on the government regarding reservation and employment
The SP President said that the policies of the BJP government are not in accordance with reservation. Citing examples of lateral entry and outsourcing, he alleged that PDA category officers do not get important postings. He claimed that the number of officers of PDA society is less in the works related to assembly elections.
He also alleged that job opportunities have reduced during the tenure of the government and maximum number of papers have been leaked in Uttar Pradesh. On the issue of investment, he said that despite the government's claims, the expected changes are not visible on the ground. He also raised questions on the government regarding land acquisition of farmers and circle rate. Citing Ayodhya, he demanded investigation into land related matters.
Questions raised regarding Ambedkar's statues
Akhilesh Yadav also raised the issue of damage to the statues of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar in the state. Citing the document prepared by the party, he claimed that 151 statues were damaged in the state. He said that a limited number of arrests have been made in these cases and action is pending in many cases. He accused the BJP government of not respecting Dr. Ambedkar and his followers.
Emphasis on harmony and social harmony
The SP President said that without harmony and harmony in the society, development and prosperity is not possible. He alleged that the social environment has deteriorated during the BJP government. Appealing to the Muslim community, he said that he thanks them for the patience they have shown.
Announced the use of AI
Akhilesh Yadav said that if the Samajwadi Party government is formed, artificial intelligence (AI) and modern technology will be used in the fields of farming, health and education. He talked about helping farmers through remote sensing and technology. He said that technology will also be used in matters related to police and law and order. He also talked about investigation of old cases and investigation into allegations of fake encounters.
He said that in the previous Samajwadi Party government, schemes like UP Dial-100 and Laptop were implemented using technology. Regarding the use of content creators and social media, he also accused BJP of using resources for political campaigning.
Announcement of 40 thousand pension and two lakh rupees assistance to women
Akhilesh Yadav also made announcements for women. He said that if the Samajwadi Party government is formed, women will be given an annual pension of Rs 40 thousand and additional financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh for business. He said that this system will be implemented to make women financially self-reliant. Even in August, Akhilesh Yadav had announced to re-start the Samajwadi Pension Scheme and to give Rs 40 thousand annually to women.
He promised to provide remunerative prices to farmers and make payments to sugarcane farmers within 24 hours. He also talked about ensuring farmers' share in the profits from sugarcane and ethanol. He also announced setting up of special factories to increase the production of palm oil and mustard oil in the state.
Claim to end fake cases
The SP President said that the alleged fake cases registered during the BJP government in the state will be ended when their government is formed. Alleging discrimination in circle rates, he said that such discrimination will not be done in the Samajwadi Party government.
Amidst the announcements and allegations of Akhilesh Yadav, Samajwadi Party has intensified preparations for the 2027 assembly elections. In the party's state executive meeting, emphasis was also laid on strengthening the organization and increasing public relations at the assembly level.
