Taylor Swift will close out a star-studded Hollywood Gala
Taylor Swift will join this year’s Academy Museum Gala lineup and deliver the evening’s closing performance. The announcement came on October 8, 2026, with the event set to take place in Los Angeles on October 17, 2026.
Amy Homma, Director and President of the Academy Museum and Academy Collection, praised Swift’s global influence and expressed excitement about her role in the program. “Taylor is an extraordinary talent whose work resonates around the world. We are thrilled to welcome her to this year’s gala and look forward to her performance to close a wonderful evening of honoring three extraordinary filmmakers and supporting the Academy Museum’s mission to celebrate and preserve cinema,” she said (via PEOPLE).
The annual gathering will recognize filmmaker and composer John Carpenter, actor Colman Domingo, and actress Charlize Theron for their contributions to cinema. The annual gala also raises funds for the Academy Museum’s activities. Money from the event will help maintain its exhibitions, expand educational programs, host public screenings, and keep the museum accessible to visitors of all ages.
Rolex, which serves as the Academy Museum’s founding supporter, is returning as the exclusive partner for the event. Tom Ford, Robert Rodriguez, Steven Spielberg, and Kate Capshaw will co-chair this year’s gala.
Swift’s scheduled performance follows her appearance at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards. At the ceremony, she received the show’s first-ever Artist Director Honors, earned 11 nominations, and won Video of the Year for her song, “The Fate of Ophelia.”
