India vs Afghanistan 2nd T20I: India performed brilliantly in the second T20 match against Afghanistan and won by 7 wickets. With this victory, Team India has taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match T20 series and has won the series. Chasing the target of 160 runs, India won the match by scoring 163 runs in just 14.5 overs. Indian batsmen maintained pressure on Afghanistan’s bowlers from the beginning and achieved the target very easily.
The explosive batting of Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma was the biggest reason for India’s victory. Sanju scored 57 runs in just 22 balls, which included 7 fours and 4 sixes. His strike rate was 259.09. Whereas, Abhishek Sharma scored 39 runs in 19 balls. He hit 2 fours and 4 sixes. Both the batsmen together gave a fast start to India. However, Rashid Khan gave Afghanistan a chance to make a comeback by dismissing both.
Ishan Kishan took over the innings
After this, Ishan Kishan took charge and scored unbeaten 38 runs to lead India to victory. He hit 3 fours and 2 sixes in his innings of 23 balls. Captain Shreyas Iyer became the victim of Rashid Khan after scoring 11 runs. Tilak Verma remained unbeaten after scoring 15 runs. Rashid Khan was the most successful bowler from Afghanistan, who took 3 wickets, but the rest of the bowlers failed to stop the Indian batsmen.
Nitish Reddy’s bowling changed the match
Earlier, Afghanistan had scored 159 runs for 8 wickets in 20 overs. Captain Ibrahim Zadran scored 37 runs, while Darvesh Rasooli played a quick inning of 26 runs in 15 balls. Rashid Khan also tried to take the team to a strong score by scoring 28 runs in 16 balls. Nitish Kumar Reddy bowled brilliantly for India and took 3 wickets. Arshdeep Singh took 2 wickets. Jasprit Bumrah, Akshar Patel and Ravi Bishnoi got one success each. India won the series 2-0 with a strong performance with both ball and bat.
