Team India's busy schedule: Challenge of 29 matches in 4 months, there will be fierce competition from four countries

New Delhi . Almost eight months have passed since the year 2026 but the thrill of cricket is not over yet for Team India. The Indian cricket team is going to be very busy from September to December and during these four months it has to play many big and important international matches. Team India will play a total of 29 international matches in different formats against Afghanistan, West Indies, New Zealand and Sri Lanka. Apart from this, the Indian team will also participate in the Asian Games, due to which the players will have a challenging cricket schedule in the last months of the year.

In September, Team India will start with three T20 International matches against Afghanistan. The first match will be played on 13 September in New Delhi, while the second match will be played on 15 September and the third match will be played on 17 September in New Delhi. After this, the Indian team will participate in the ODI and T20 series against West Indies. Three ODI matches will be played between the two teams, which will start from September 27. This series will run till October 3.

After the ODI series against West Indies, Team India will play a five-match T20 series. These matches will be played from October 6 to October 17 in Lucknow, Ranchi, Indore, Hyderabad and Bengaluru. After this series, the Indian team will directly leave for New Zealand tour where it has to undertake a long and very challenging tour in October and November.

Team India will play the first five T20 matches in New Zealand. After this there will be a five-match ODI series between the two teams. The most important part of the tour will be the two-Test series which is also considered important for India's World Test Championship campaign. Team India will play a total of 12 international matches on the New Zealand tour and during this time it will have to prove its strength in foreign conditions.




  • The Indian team will face Sri Lanka at home in the last month of the year, December. Three ODI and three T20 International matches will be played between the two countries. The ODI series will start from December 13 in Delhi while after this the matches will be played in Bengaluru and Ahmedabad. The T20 series will start from December 22 and matches will be held in Rajkot, Cuttack and Pune.

    If we look at the entire schedule, Team India has to play 3 T20 matches against Afghanistan, 3 ODIs and 5 T20 matches against West Indies, 5 T20 matches against New Zealand, 5 ODIs and 2 Tests while 3 ODIs and 3 T20 matches against Sri Lanka. In this way, a total of 29 international matches are waiting for Team India in four months. Asian Games matches have not been included in this and with their addition the number of matches may increase further. In such a situation, the last four months of the year 2026 are going to be very exciting and busy for both the Indian cricket team and cricket fans.
