Meta VR Glass: Meta Company has introduced several innovative products and features in the field of wearable technology and virtual reality during its annual ‘Meta Connect 2026’ event. The event saw the unveiling of next-generation virtual reality glasses, third-generation Ray-Ban Meta AI glasses and new models with audio-only support. Apart from this, hearing assistance feature for glasses, major changes in gaming and introduction of ‘Muse AI Agent’ in AI glasses have been announced. (Meta VR Glass)

The biggest announcement of the event was Meta’s virtual reality (VR) glasses.

  • Launch and Price: The new VR glasses will officially hit the market during the spring season (March to May) next year. It is priced at $1,300 (approximately ₹1,24,643).

  • Design and Display: The glass weighs only 100 grams, which is about 5 times lighter than the Meta Quest 3. Its frame is made of magnesium alloy and it has a 5K display with pancake lens and full-color passthrough video support.

  • Audio-Visual Features: Equipped with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos special audio, the device will deliver a cinema-like experience. According to the company, this is the world’s first ‘IMAX Enhanced Certified’ VR device.

Introducing the ‘Ray-Ban Meta Audio Glass’ without a camera

Meta has launched an audio-only model for users who are hesitant to wear glasses with a camera.

  • Features: It offers music, podcast playback, AI voice assistant and crystal clear calling support. It weighs only 43 grams.

  • Battery Backup: The platform offers a backup of 12 hours on a single charge and up to 48 hours total with the charging case.

  • Price and Availability: Its pre-orders have begun with a starting price of $349 (approximately ₹33,450) and shipping will begin on October 13.

Ray-Ban Meta Glass upgrade with third-generation camera

Meta has updated its popular smart glasses with a slimmer design and a new dedicated Meta AI button:

  • Battery and Mic: The battery life has been increased from 8 hours to 9 hours in the new model. Also added is a 6-mic system, which can reduce background noise by over 90%.

  • Price: Its starting price is set at $449 (approximately ₹43,030).

Meta Ray-Ban Display: Hologram and Navigation Tool

The smart glasses with display are being made available in global markets like Germany, France and Italy besides the US for $799 (approx. ₹76,584):

  • Smart Navigation: By the end of this month, the glasses will feature heads-up directions for cycling and public transport. This feature will provide directions based on prominent landmarks in front of you instead of normal curves.

  • Hologram Support: Hologram support will be provided during video calls, in which users can create their own 3D avatar through the Meta AI app.

Gaming and Entertainment: Big Update in ‘Beat Saber’

Meta’s gaming subsidiary ‘Beat Games’ will bring a major update to its most popular game ‘Beat Saber’ next year:

  • It will have ‘hand tracking’ support for playing without a controller.

  • A new single-player mode called ‘Flux’ will be added, with new powers like the powerful ‘Flux Tether’. The update will be available on both the Meta VR Glass and the Quest headset with 35 popular songs.
