user complaint
The government has lifted the ban on Telegram and the app has restarted in India. However, many users have complained that they are unable to access Telegram. Even after the ban is lifted, some users are facing problems in using the app.
Why was the message editing feature discontinued?
According to information given by officials, Telegram’s message editing feature was being used to spread false rumors related to the paper leak. In this, criminals were sending any message before the exam and after the exam was over, they were editing the same message and sending real questions in it. The Telegram edit feature is especially useful because the old time remains visible even after editing the message. Due to this, it often seems as if the question paper was leaked even before the exam. This creates an atmosphere of fear among the people. Keeping all these things in mind, the government has decided to discontinue the message editing feature in Telegram.
