Lucknow: An unfortunate incident that has torn apart relationships has come to light from Azamgarh district of Uttar Pradesh, where soon after the death of their mother, six daughters clashed among themselves over property and medical expenses. This incident that happened in Lohra village has shocked the entire area. The dead body of the old mother remained lying inside the house and the daughters kept quarreling among themselves over the division of money and land. The dispute escalated so much that the local villagers and neighbors had to inform the police and call them to the spot for intervention. As soon as the information was received, the police team reached the village and pacified the matter by convincing all the parties.
Mother dies after illness
105 year old Chaurasi Devi, resident of Lohara village, wife of late. Ramnawal was suffering from a serious illness for the last three months. He was undergoing treatment in the hospital located at Atraulia. The old woman died during treatment on Friday afternoon. As soon as the news of his death was received, his six daughters reached their parents' home. It is alleged that instead of expressing solace and preparing for the last rites, a heated argument broke out between the daughters over the expenses incurred on the treatment of the old lady and the division of the ancestral property.

Neighbors were stunned to see a dispute over property between the daughters, despite the mother's mortal remains lying in the house. When the situation worsened, the villagers informed the Atraulia police station.
Police reached the spot and took stock of the incident and after completing the legal formalities, took custody of the body and sent it for post-mortem. According to the police, further legal action will be taken on the basis of post-mortem report and statements of family members.
Brother murdered over property issue in Sitapur too
This is not the first case of murder of relatives due to greed for property in Uttar Pradesh. Recently, a similar sensational case had come to light from Sitapur district, where sisters had conspired to murder their only brother Ibrahim over a property dispute. According to the allegations of the deceased's wife Sabida, her husband was being harassed for a long time for grabbing the property. The body of Ibrahim, who had gone missing in June, was recovered from the Sharda tributary canal. After strong intervention of the court, Mahmudabad police have registered a case of kidnapping and murder against four named accused and started investigation.
