Amid ongoing protests at Delhi’s Jantar-Mantar over the NEET paper leak controversy, the central government has now stepped up efforts to find a solution through dialogue. Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh once again extended an open invitation to the protestors and student representatives for dialogue. He said that this is not an issue of prestige for the government and the government is ready to hold a meeting at any time and at any place according to the convenience of the students. The government claims that the proposal for talks has been formally sent four times between Wednesday afternoon and Thursday afternoon.
‘Government’s doors are always open’
Talking to the media, Union Minister Jitendra Singh said that he is making a humble appeal to the students protesting on behalf of the government to come forward for a discussion. He said that the government is ready to discuss the agitation and all issues connected with it and has no hesitation in devoting necessary time. He clarified that there is no specific venue requirement for the discussion and the meeting can be held wherever the students suggest.

Nadda and Jitendra Singh will also be present in the meeting
The Union Minister said that Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda and he himself will be present at the discussion with the student representatives. He said the meeting could also be held at Nadda’s office or residence. The government believes that a gradual solution can be moved through dialogue. Jitendra Singh asserted that the government is not adamant about any ego or prestige issue and is ready to discuss in the interests of the youth.

A big step by the government after PM Modi’s fast-track court announcement
The entire development has come to light at a time when Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced a fast-track court to deliver swift and strict punishment to the culprits of the NEET paper leak. The central government has since claimed to have sent four consecutive official proposals to establish a dialogue with the protesting students and their representatives. All eyes are now on whether the protestors will come to the negotiating table after the government’s ‘Your Time, Your Place’ proposal or continue their movement on Jantar-Mantar.
