The magic of victory worked in Tamil Nadu with promises of 8 grams of gold, free gas cylinder and Rs 2500 per month…

Tezzbuzz Desk- The initial trends of Tamil Nadu Assembly elections have brought a big change in the politics of the state. According to the latest data, actor-turned-politician Thalapathy Vijay’s party TVK (Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam) is performing brilliantly and is leading on more than 100 seats. This trend seems to be completely changing the political equations in the 234-seat Tamil Nadu Assembly.

Vijay entered politics from the film world in the year 2024 and participated in the state elections for the first time through his new party. His election promises especially influenced women, youth and the middle class. Initial trends indicate that his promises have proved popular among voters.

Many big promises were made in the TVK manifesto, the most famous of which was to give 8 grams of gold and silk sarees to girls at the time of marriage. Along with this, a promise of financial assistance of Rs 2500 every month was also made to women, which attracted women voters.

Apart from this, the party had promised to increase the pension of elderly and disabled people to Rs 3000 per month, give land lease to landless families and provide up to 200 units of free electricity to every family. Besides, it was also announced to give 6 free gas cylinders every year and interest-free loan up to Rs 5 lakh to women.

Keeping the youth in mind, TVK had promised unemployment allowance, internship opportunities and creation of lakhs of government jobs. These schemes strengthened the party’s hold, especially among young voters.

On the other hand, the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) is seen slipping to third place in the initial trends, which seems to be a major upset in the politics of the state. This trend is being considered as a challenging sign for DMK which has been in power for a long time.

Although these are only initial trends and the final results are yet to come, at present the political environment in Tamil Nadu has completely changed. The sharp rise of Vijay’s party has created both new debate and enthusiasm in the politics of the state.
