On Monday, an important meeting of the District Level Implementation and Monitoring Committee constituted under the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) was organized under the chairmanship of Chief Development Officer Harshika Singh in the Ganga Auditorium of Vikas Bhawan. In the meeting, a thorough review of the progress of self-help groups in the district, bank linkage, Lakhpati Mahila Yojana and 100 percent saturation was done.
While starting the meeting, the Chief Development Officer said that the main objective of the National Rural Livelihood Mission is to make poor women of rural areas economically self-reliant by connecting them with self-help groups. The intention of the government is that no eligible poor family group should be deprived.
The Chief Development Officer gave clear instructions to all the block development officers that one woman from the family of all the beneficiaries remaining in the eligible household list should be compulsorily added to the self-help group. For this, Gram Panchayat Secretary, Gram Rojgar Sevak, Group Sakhi and BMM should conduct door-to-door survey. Any kind of negligence will not be tolerated in this work.
During the review of the overall progress of the district, the progress of development blocks *Saidabad, Manda, Mauaima, Shringverpur and Uruwa* was found to be the least. The Chief Development Officer expressed deep displeasure on this. He instructed the concerned Block Development Officers to improve the progress within 15 days and warned that if the progress is found to be poor in the next meeting too, responsibility will be fixed and action will be taken.
In the Lakhpati Mahila Yojana, it was said that the Prime Minister's Lakhpati Didi campaign should be implemented in mission mode in the district. He directed that the women of the group should be compulsorily covered under the schemes run in various departments like BC Sakhi, Vidyut Sakhi, Agriculture Sakhi, Pashu Sakhi, Drone Didi, ODOP, Dairy, Poultry Farming, Sewing-Embroidery, so that their annual income can exceed Rs 1 lakh.
The Chief Development Officer directed the Lead District Manager (LDM) and all bank branch managers to speed up the process of opening bank accounts and setting Cash Credit Limit (CCL) of self-help groups. Disposal of applications pending in banks should be ensured within 7 days. The women of the group do not have to make rounds of the bank.
Present in the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner of Self-Employment expected all the departmental officers to provide information about the public welfare schemes run in their respective departments and the targets allotted to their departments to the NRLM office. So that by connecting more and more SHG women with various schemes, they can be made millionaires and departmental targets can also be achieved.
