On the occasion of Independence Day, schools in Uttar Pradesh will become the largest centers of patriotism, national unity, and public participation. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the state government has completed extensive preparations to transform the “Partition Horrors Remembrance Day” on August 14th and the “Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan-2026,” which runs until August 15th, into a mass movement through schools.
Instructions for ensuring participation
To this end, the Basic and Secondary Education Department has issued a detailed action plan and directed schools across the state to ensure the active participation of students, teachers, parents, and the local community. Through the campaign, the message of patriotism, national unity, respect for the Constitution, and pride in the tricolor will be delivered to every household. According to instructions issued by Additional Chief Secretary, Basic Education and Secondary Education, Partha Sarathi Sen Sharma, the campaign aims to transform Independence Day into a widespread public campaign of public participation, patriotism, and national consciousness.
‘Partition Horror Memorial Day’ will be celebrated
Under this initiative, timely organization of scheduled programs will be ensured in all basic and secondary schools. Maximum student participation, community cooperation, and respect for the national flag will be given top priority in every activity. “Partition Horrors Remembrance Day” will be observed in all schools across the state on August 14th. Students will be introduced to the historical circumstances of India’s partition, its human impact, and the importance of national unity.
Special lectures, discussions, exhibitions and awareness programmes will be organised in schools so that the new generation can learn from history and become sensitive towards national integrity, social harmony and democratic values.
‘Tricolour in every home campaign-2026’
Under the “Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan-2026,” which will run until August 15th, students, teachers, and parents will be encouraged to hoist the national flag at their homes. Schools will serve as centers for widespread publicity of the campaign and ensure the participation of the local community, so that the message of respect for the tricolor and national pride reaches every section of society. As part of the campaign, schools will organize essay competitions, painting competitions, speeches, debates, quizzes, patriotic songs, cultural programs, morning walks, Tiranga Yatras, and other creative activities.
The role of citizens will also be introduced.
Students will also be introduced to the National Flag Code, the fundamental duties enshrined in the Constitution, and the role of citizens in nation-building, further strengthening their sense of responsibility and pride for the nation. Campaign activities will also be widely publicized through digital and social media. Schools have been instructed to share photos and videos of events on designated platforms. Students and parents will also be encouraged to actively participate on the official digital platform of the ‘Tiranga in Every Home’ campaign.
Minister of State for Basic Education (Independent Charge) Sandeep Singh said that the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign is a powerful tool to inculcate patriotism, national unity, and respect for the Constitution in the new generation. Schools in Uttar Pradesh will become the largest centers for this campaign. Our endeavor is to connect every student with respect for the tricolor, the ideals of the freedom struggle, and the resolve for a developed India. This message of national pride emanating from schools should reach every home, and through public participation, Independence Day should become a true national celebration.
